Sawed-off shotgun, drugs found in Northern Peninsula home

A man and a woman have been arrested and will likely face drug and firearm related charges after police executed a search warrant at a home in the Northern Peninsula community of Main Brook.


Roddickton RCMP entered the home Tuesday and reportedly located and seized an unspecified quantity of marijuana, cash, and other items police suspect were used to traffic drugs.

Police said charges are pending under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for trafficking a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police also located a sawed-off shotgun and other firearms and ammunition not safely stored. Further charges are pending in relation to those items, according to an RCMP news release.

Police have not released the names of the accused, citing the ongoing nature of its investigation.
