A 19-year-old Corner Brook man is in hospital with serious injuries after being pinned under a side-by-side ATV that rolled over on Beaver Pond Road at George's Lake Thursday evening.

The 19-year-old was a passenger in the vehicle. He was first transported to Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook and later to the Health Sciences Centre in St John's.

The driver of the ATV, a 16-year-old boy from George’s Lake, and another passenger, an 18-year-old Corner Brook man, were also transported to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Bay St. George RCMP say none of the occupants of the side-by-side ATV were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.

The accident occurred about 9:50 p.m. after the driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to make a turn and it rolled over.
