Ashley Gosse will receive the Newfoundland and Labrador Young Humanitarian of the Year award in recognition of her many volunteer commitments.

Goose has helped the Sleep Out 120 campaign grow to raise awareness about youth homelessness in Newfoundland and Labrador. It has raised $30,000 since she became involved with the campaign in 2011 and has expanded to other parts of the province.

“We do have some resources, it's just that they aren't enough to accommodate the number of homeless people we're actually seeing,” Gosse told The Telegram earlier this year. She was a co-campaign leader in 2013.

Gosse served as the president of the social work class of 2013 at Memorial University. She has also volunteered with women’s organizations on campus and other MUN student organizations.
