Driver injured as dump truck rolls over in Paradise

Firefighters from the St. John's Regional Fire Department help Eastern Health paramedics move the male driver of an overturned tandem dump truck to the awaiting ambulance this morning in Paradise.

The driver was conscious and alert on the stretcher, but the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.

It is believed the dump truck was westbound on the Trans Canada Highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle near the exit/entrance ramps to Paradise.

The truck rolled onto the highway before coming to a stop on a guardrail.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating the accident that occurred before 10:30 a.m. today.

    The driver was identified as George Hudson. Can you tell me if he is from Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario area?

    I believe they just repaired that section of guardrail this week
