American arrested for impaired driving in St. John’s

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested an American citizen over the weekend in St. John’s for impaired driving.

A resident provided a tip to police at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday concerning a possible impaired driver in the area of Cashin Avenue, according to the RNC’s overnight report.

A 66-year-old man from Virginia was arrested and charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer. The accused was scheduled to appear in Weekend and Statutory Holidays Court Sunday.

    If the guy had been here any amount of time, I'd cut him some slack,....he very likely saw enough people doing it to think it was legal here.
