Public tip leads to impaired driving charge in Corner Brook

The RNC in Corner Brook has charged a 47-year-old man from the Bay of Islands with driving-related offences.


About 5 p.m. Tuesday, RNC officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Herald Avenue in Corner Brook after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen regarding an impaired driver.

As a result the man, a resident of Gilliams on the North Shore of the Bay of Islands, was charged with impaired driving and operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. The accused remained in custody at the Corner Brook Detention Center overnight and will be released to appear in provincial court on Jan. 28.
