Female charged with armed robbery at St. John’s pharmacy

A 23-year-old woman was arrested this afternoon in connection with an armed robbery at Shoppers Drug Mart on LeMarchant Road in St. John’s.


The RNC responded to the store about 2:25 p.m. where the female suspect, armed with a weapon, entered the store and demanded pharmaceuticals. She was apprehended without incident in the store.

There were no injuries during the incident.

RNC officers from patrol services, criminal investigation division, police dog services and forensic identification responded to the scene.

Charges include armed robbery and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

The accused was held custody to appear in provincial court.
