A 35-year-old man from the community of Melrose was arrested Thursday night in connection with a marijuana grow-op in a home.

Bonavista RCMP says officers dismantled the marijuana grow operation after searching the home Thursday shortly before 7 p.m. Plants of varying stages of development were seized along with drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was later released to face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for possession of a controlled substance and production of a controlled substance.

He will be appearing at the Clarenville provincial court in the new year.

Great job police! Now the marijuana will have to come from organized crime in Quebec. I'm sure the Hells Angels will appreciate the business.

Was this written by a 5 year old with no spell check available?

Another waste of taxpayer dollars. Go bust some meth heads or coke dealers. Oh wait, it takes actual police work to do that.
