New Year's Eve busy night for the RNC

On the northeast Avalon the RNC responded to 215 calls during a 24 hour period that included New Year's Eve.

 Police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in a playground in the east end of St. John’s. A 28 year old male in need of medical attention was found. He was transported to hospital by police and treated for symptoms of hypothermia.

A 56 year old female was charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer following a call about a disturbance on Forest Road. The woman was also charged with resisting arrest. She was held for court.

 As a result of a call from a concerned citizen, an 18 year old male in CBS was charged with impaired driving.

 Another call from a concerned citizen lead to a 47 year old male on Water Street being charged with impaired driving.

In the Corner Brook region, a 14 year old female resident of Corner Brook was arrested and charged with uttering threats.

 A 25 yearr old male was arrested for assaulting on a 17 year old female. Both persons were residents of the same address and are known to each other. The female received minor injuries from the assault. The male was held in police custody. Alcohol was a factor in this incident.
