Several dead farm animals on the Burin Peninsula have become the subject of a police investigation, according to a news release issued Tuesday by the RCMP's Burin detachment.
Burin SPCA and the RCMP both responded Monday to an animal welfare complaint at a farm in Winterland. There, the remains of five cows and three sheep were seized.
Police said provincial authorities will perform post-mortem examinations on the animal carcasses. RCMP expects to have the results of those examinations by the end of this week.
