If Ray Guy was still with us he would probably have written something like the following about Bas Jamieson: An Angel approached Saint Peter and informed him that a very nice man was standing outside the Pearly Gates asking to be let in to Heaven. Saint Peter looked toward the gates at the waiting man and said to him: "Is that you Bas? Come on in we've been expecting you, the switchboard is lighting up, can you take a few calls?" I listened to Bas for many years and enjoyed his radio talk show and his friendly banter and straightforward manner very much. Bas will certainly be missed. The Jamieson family has endured two bereavements in recent weeks including the passing of Bas Jamieson's brother Colin, a well known media person in his own right. My deepest sympathy is extended to Bas Jamieson's family, friends and colleagues. God bless.
