The vigil will take place at Salons A and B of the Holiday Inn on Portugal Cove Road in St. John’s from 7-8:30 p.m. During the vigil, there will be more than 40 readings — one for each of the women and girls who have been murdered or are missing and presumed murdered in the province due to relationship violence, a news release said. Any family members of these women and girls who would like to participate during the vigil are invited to contact the Coalition Against Violence, Avalon East. The event is being organized by Marguerite’s Place, the Coalition Against Violence — Avalon East, the St. John’s Native Friendship Centre, and the NL Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre.
