St. John’s releases campaign contributions for 2013 election

The city of St. John’s has released the lists of campaign contributions and expense disclosures from the 2013 municipal election.

The sworn disclosures can be viewed online at stjohns.ca. According to the city’s election finance bylaw, candidates can spend $10,000 plus $1 for every voter listed on the voters list in the ward or at-large area in which they’re seeking election. Contributions are limited to a maximum of $1,000 to a candidate per person in a calendar year, and $2,000 from a corporation or trade union.
