Environment Canada says the snow and wind will ease, and widespread blizzard conditions are no longer expected in Newfoundland.

An intense low pressure system well northeast of Newfoundland will continue to intensify as travels out to sea.
Blizzard conditions have ended across the island, although flurries and blowing snow over exposed areas are still forecast in some regions.
Southwesterly wind gusts up to of 110 km/h will persist this afternoon over the Bonavista and Avalon peninsulas, as well as Clarenville.
