The accident happened late that afternoon at the intersection of Union Street and O’Connell Drive. The 18-year-old girl who was seriously injured was also a driver in one of the vehicles.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary did not mention any other injuries in a news release. It said both vehicles sustained extensive damage.

Officers are continuing to investigate the accident and are looking for witnesses to speak with.

One of the worst intersections in Corner Brook. They need to put a light there.Every time you pull onto O'Connel from Union Street, you have to say a prayer and gun her. How many more will be killed or injured before something is done.Even worse in winter when the streets of CB are perpetually covered in snow.
