RNC investigating robbery in St. John's

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a robbery Monday night in St. John's.


Around 10 p.m., the RNC says a man entered Marie's Mini Mart on Crosbie Road and demanded cash. He left with an undisclosed amount of money.

There were no weapons used.  Another man is believed to have been involved in the robbery.

Police say both men left on foot. The RNC K-9 Unit was called out to the scene but there have been no arrests at this time.

Both men are believed to be in their 20s and between five feet, nine inches and six feet tall.

Cigarettes stolen from another St. John's store

Also on Monday night, a 35-year-old man reportedly robbed cigarettes from Needs Convenience on Pearson Street in St. John's.

The RNC says the incident was reported around 10:40 p.m. A man was repported to have entered the store and demanded cigarettes. He walked away with a quantity of cigarettes.

That investigation is also ongoing.
