Swarming robbery in downtown St. John’s

Police in St. John’s are looking for help to identify a group of men responsible for robbing two males walking downtown late last month.

According to a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary news release, the incident happened near Queen’s Road and Long’s Hill on Jan. 28 at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Four men approached two other men who were walking and demanded cash and other personal items. The victims complied with the request and were not injured.

The suspects are described as being in their twenties. All were wearing dark clothing.

    "The suspects are described as being in their twenties. All were wearing dark clothing." That's a big help. Over the years I have heard a few stories about people being attacked by a crowd. If this gets to be common, somebody will be seriously hurt or George St and Water St. will close down. RNC needs foot patrol.
