Police in St. John’s are looking for a man who was armed with a weapon when he robbed a local convenience store.

The robbery happened Jan. 24 at Marie’s Mini Mart on Thorburn Road in the capital city at approximately 10 p.m. Security video of the incident shows a man wearing a red coat and dark pants walking into the store with his hood up. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said his face was concealed.
At one point, the man can be seen reaching into his pocket and briefly pulling out a weapon. The RNC did not specify what type of weapon was used to commit the crime.
Two employees at the convenience store emptied their cash registers for the man, who placed the money in a plastic bag before leaving. Police said no one was injured.
The suspect is described as 5’10” with a slim build.
