Driver not injured as car overturns in St. John’s

The driver of a vehicle that overturned on Kenmount Road West — in Paradise Industrial Park — this morning was not injured.

The single-vehicle accident occurred in blowing snow, on slippery and snow-covered roads.

The RNC, St. John’s Regional Fire Department and an ambulance responded to the scene.

    The speed limit on this stretch is 50 Km/h. It is mostly straight road, with a long gradual bend on each end. I have no doubt that the snow was blowing, and that the road was slippery, but to put this vehicle on its roof, you'd have to be doing 70 Km/h MINIMUM. It was probably well over 80Km. A lot of people drive way too fast on this road, very close to the elementary school on Karwood. A lot of people drive way too fast on Karwood Dr., too, despite it being next to an elementary school with speed bumps and a 30 KM/h max.

    Do people read the news??? When it snow or rains, slow down !!! If it gets too bad, don't move. Now this driver has no car.
