Man, woman facing charges after drug seizure in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

A man, 22, and a woman, 19, are charged with drug-related offences after the RCMP seized marijuana, morphine pills and other drug paraphernalia from a home in Happy Valley-Goose Bay Thursday night.

RCMP officers from the Goose Bay street-level drug section, general investigation section and Goose Bay Detachment, searched the home on Markland Road about 8 p.m.

About eight ounces of marijuana, a small quantity of morphine pills and other drug paraphernalia were seized. Both accused were arrested a short distance from the home. They were released a short time later and will be appearing in Happy Valley/Goose Bay provincial court April 15.

Charges include possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) against the woman, and possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana and possession of a controlled substance (morphine) against the man.

The investigation is continuing, the RCMP says.
