Popular TV series seeking nominations from St. John’s

Do you know a bad driver in St. John’s whom you’d like to share with the rest of the country?
Why not nominate that driver for a spot on Discovery’s Canada’s Worst Driver series which is seeking candidates for the upcoming season.

Nominations for St. John’s worst drivers are being accepted online at www.canadasworstdriver.com.

A news release notes that St. John’s has yet to be represented on Canada's Worst Driver. Producers are hoping to narrow in on almost 10 years of disastrous drivers who have been flying under the radar for far too long.

Those selected will be given one of eight coveted spots at the Canada’s Worst Driver rehabilitation centre featuring the most unique and effective training facilities in the country.

“To honour a decade of producing Canada’s Worst Driver, we’re launching our largest call for nominations yet, searching for the next round of terrible motorists,” said Guy O’Sullivan, President of Proper Television and executive producer of Canada’s Worst Driver.

“To find the worst of the worst, we’re enlisting the help of local residents to nominate the shoddiest drivers they know. Whether it’s a spouse, child, parent, friend, or co-worker, Canada’s Worst Driver wants to hear from you.”

In each episode if the series, the most improved driver graduates and returns to public roads as a safer and more skilled driver. The last man or woman standing is tagged with the dubious title of ‘Canada’s Worst Driver’.

Newfoundland drivers are by far the worst in the world. I'm not sure that I know one worse than the other, but things like not indicating, rolling through a stop light, drifting across lanes in a multi-lane street, stopping to talk people, stopping in traffic to 'let someone out' and create a dangerous situation, etc, are all common in Newfoundland. I'm yet to see anyone from the RNC or RCMP do anything about all of the bad driving habits here. They only want to do speed traps to line their pockets.

Pick any 3 drivers at random on the Outer Ring Rd. They may not necessarily be the 3 very worst driver's in St John's; but I'm sure they would be bad enough to win a "worst driver contest" against any of the mainlanders.

Nominate a spouse???? Now there's definite grounds for divorce.
