Officers seeking information on illegally killed moose on Northern Peninsula

Wildlife officers are hoping someone can provide information on who is responsible for two moose being shot dead near the parking lot of the Transportation and Works depot in Ship Cove on the Northern Peninsula.

On Tuesday, Fish and Wildlife Enforcement officers from the Roddickton detachment responded to a report that two dead moose — a cow and a calf — had been discovered.

Officers noted the animals appeared to have been illegally shot and left at the site.

An investigation into this incident is underway and officers are asking anyone who has any information or who may have seen suspicious behaviour in that area on or around Feb 11, to come forward.
