RNC releases sketch of suspect in robbery investigation

The RNC’s criminal investigation divsion is asking the public to help identify the person responsible for an attempted robbery in the parking lot of the Dominion on Blackmarsh Road in St. John’s Sunday, Feb. 9.

About 2:25 p.m. that day, the RNC responded to a complaint that a 68-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle when she was approached by a female who attempted to take her handbag.

The suspect was not successful and fled the area on foot.

The victim was treated on scene by paramedics and sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is described as approximately 5’6” in height, 135-140 lbs, with brown untidy hair, pale skin and dark sunken eyes.

The suspect was also described as wearing a pink hoodie with dark black or blue splash pants.
