The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying men suspected of using fraudulent credit cards.

The RNC Economic Crime Unit is currently investigating several incidents where fraudulent Master Cards were used at businesses in St. John’s, Corner Brook, Gander and Grand Falls.

The RNC believes that three men have been involved in using a device to copy the information from credit cards, often referred to as “skimming.” Incidents were reported in January and February of this year.

The RNC is working in co-operation with the RCMP and other policing agencies to identify them.

Anyone that may have any information in relation to this is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also provide information on the N.L. Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
