Collisions keep RNC busy

The RNC were kept busy Saturday through Sunday morning with several accididents.

Saturday afternoon, police responded to a hit and run collision in the area of Stavanger. A short time later the suspect vehicle was located in the area of St. Thomas Line. A 40 year old male was charged with impaired driving and was held for morning court. His vehicle was impounded. The investigation into the hit and run collision is continuing.

Saturday night police responded to a collision on Pitts Memorial Drive. A 26 year old female was charged with impaired causing bodily harm and refusal to take the Breathalyzer. She was released to appear in court at a later date.

At 10:30 p.m. Police responded to an assault with a weapon where a 30 year old male stated he was assaulted in the downtown area of St. John’s. The incident is under under investigation.

A little before 3:00 a.m. Saturday night, police responded to a business in the east end of St. John’s where a youth was arrested for an indecent act and breach of probation. He was held for court.
