Tory leadership candidate Frank Coleman has been accredited by the party as a leadership candidate.

That means his forms have been scrutinized and his $10,000 cheque for the entry fee has cleared.

The only other accredited candidate so far is Bill Barry, also a west coast businessman.

A third potential candidate, a town councillor from Howley, also submitted nomination papers on Friday, just before the deadline for entering the race. The PC party has not accredited Wayne Bennet yet.

He appears to be the Chosen One, yet, no fanfafre or buzz? A very low key, non-public filing of his nomination papers. No statement or photo opportunity. This should be about politics, not divine blessing. He only has 12 months to get the public to get to know him - it needs to start now.
