Employees of the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission (WHSCC) across the province have ratified a collective agreement with the provincial government.

“Government has reached successful collective agreements with unions and employee associations representing more than 22,000 public employees in the last year, and I am pleased to see this latest agreement ratified by public sector workers," Charlene Johnson, Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board, said in a news release. "The success of the collective bargaining process can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of negotiating teams on both sides of the table.”

The agreement shares the same framework as that reached with other Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) groups, the Canadian Union of Public Employees, and the Association of Allied Health Professionals, including a five per cent salary increase over the term of the agreement and a one-time pro-rated payment of $1,400.
