Cocaine trafficking, weapons offences, money laundering among charges
Two males were arrested Sunday in relation to a six-month investigation into firearms possession, cocaine trafficking and money laundering.
According to a news release sent Sunday night, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) seized the following during the investigation by using search warrants at two homes: More than a half a pound of cocaine, $335,000 in cash, ammunition, a stun gun, brass knuckles, a loaded 9 mm handgun (found in a vehicle) and a Toyota pickup truck.
The males, from St. John’s and Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s, are charged with conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, uttering threats (to three separate people, one of whom was a police officer), intimidation of a police officer and multiple firearms and weapons offences.
They are scheduled to appear in court Monday morning in St. John’s.
