Politicians, media and the public gathered this morning at George Street United Church in St. John’s for a ceremony to honour the 254 lives lost 100 years ago in the 1914 sealing disaster.

    This is a warm invitation to all those who so easily oppose the seal fishery to attend this memorial service. To experience just why we do today what they did so many years ago! They did and we do what we do for the cash it brings to get us through the hungry month of March!
