The Holyrood RCMP is advising motorists of a dangerous section of the Trans-Canada Highway, about one Kilometre past the Witless Bay Exit.
The RCMP says that, in the east-bound lane, the highway looks to be clear but then changes suddenly to being snow-covered on the turn.
Police are advising motorists to drive with caution on the Trans-Canada Highway in the east-bound and west-bound lanes, as the highway is snow covered in many spots, with blowing snow and zero visibility in some places.
Motorists are asked to reduce speed and drive safely.
Whitbourne RCMP is also advising motorists to drive with caution on the TCH from Whitbourne to Southern Harbour as the highway is snow covered and snow drifted in many spots.
It has been noted that in places the highway looks to be only wet, then suddenly changes to snow covered and snow drifts on the turns.
Motorists should be aware and conscious of this all along the TCH.
Several vehicles have gone off the road and are still off the road in these snow-covered areas. Tow services are working to get vehicles back on the road.
