RNC seeks assistance in gas station break-in investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is requesting the public’s assistance regarding a recent break and entry at the Esso Service Station on Anderson Avenue in St. John’s.


On Sunday, around 3:50 a.m. RNC officers responded to a report of an alarm at the service station. Upon arrival it was determined that entry had been gained into the business.

According to the RNC, a man entered the business and left with an undisclosed amount of cigarettes.

Investigators are asking anyone with information in relation to this break, entry and theft to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also provide information anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.

The RNC is also issuing a reminder that any person that is in possession of stolen property can be charged criminally under the Criminal Code of Canada.
