A 32-year-old man was arrested and had his vehicle impounded by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary after a traffic safety stop Thursday afternoon.
According to the RNC, officers stopped the vehicle around 3:45 p.m. in Mount Pearl. The driver was arrested for one count of breaching a court order and was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for not having a driver's licence and not having insurance.
The driver also owed $25,000 in outstanding fines. He was held in custody until a court appearance.
