Police are remaining tight-lipped about details surrounding a shooting death in Felix Cove on March 29.
Const. Jennifer Culleton of the RCMP major crime unit in Corner Brook said Monday there will be no further media releases at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
Police would not say who fired the shot that resulted in a man’s death early that morning, nor will they release the age of the deceased and how many people were in the residence at the time.
The only person arrested following the incident was Jasmine Pittman, 20, of Stephenville. She was released from custody with a number of conditions after an appearance in Stephenville Provincial Court March 31. Police have charged Pittman with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.
While that charge is in relation to the shooting incident in Felix Cove, police have stressed it was not Pittman who fired the shot that resulted in the death of a male inside the home.
Pittman will return to court June 9.
Officers responded to a call for assistance at the Felix Cove residence in the early morning hours that Saturday. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were advised that a confrontation took place in which weapons were used and resulted in the man’s death.
None of the three people who were in the residence could be reached for comment Monday.
