RCMP on scene of fatal motor vehicle accident on Witless Bay Line

The RCMP is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident this morning on the Witless Bay Line, about eight kilometres from Witless Bay.

A man, the lone occupant of the vehicle, died in the single-vehicle accident.

Skid marks on the roadway indicated the vehicle left the road and rolled into the wooded area.

RCMP officers remain on the scene investigating, and officers trained in accident reconstruction are enroute to the scene.

Earlier this morning the RCMP advised that emergency equipment was at the scene and that the roadway was blocked to traffic. A later news release advised the Witless Bay Line was open to one-lane of traffic only.

He was one of my best friends and I needed to see these pictures to recreate in my mind the last moments of his life; to be with him in his last moments. He was one of those people who had to burn out early because he shone so bright. Thankyou friend for always making me feel like a million bucks every time I came home. The best of the Rock is lost with you.

Out of respect for the young man and his family you would think that the picture of the car wouldn't be posted for all to see! No need.
