Police in St. John’s have arrested a 21-year-old man accused of holding another person against their will and committing assault.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s overnight report, police received a call at 4 p.m. Friday to respond to a disturbance in the centre-city area.
The 21-year-old was arrested and is facing charges of forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, mischief, and breach of a court order. He remained in custody overnight and was scheduled to appear in court Saturday.
