Program builds on youth skills to address shortfall in skilled trades

Using the power of young people to provide skilled labour in an environment where demand is exceeding supply is the topic of a presentation by Choices for Youth during a luncheon at the Fluvarium in St. John’s today.

Rosalind Curran, program co-ordinator of Choices for Youth's Trades for Training program was the guest speaker at the Canadian Home Builders' Association Newfoundland and Labrador monthly meeting today. Rosalind Curran, program co-ordinator, is the guest speaker at the Canadian Home Builders monthly membership meeting.

She is giving an overview of the training for trades program and how it has succeeded during the past seven years.

Curran says the program helps provide a workforce that is ready, willing and able to become involved in the industry.
