Woman charged with impaired driving after rear-end collision

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary nabbed more drivers for impaired driving Thursday night and this morning.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night after the vehicle she was driving collided with the rear of another vehicle in the west end of St. John’s.

The woman was subsequently charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer. She was also given summary offence tickets for having an expired licence and expired registration. There were no injuries.

The woman was released to appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man was arrested around 3 a.m. this morning in the Torbay road area of St. John’s for impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer. He was also released to appear in court at a later date.

Teen charged with assault with a weapon

A 14- year-old male was also arrested in the west end of St. John’s around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night for assault with a weapon (a knife), assault and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.

The youth was detained for court this morning.
