The annual Klondike Night fundraiser for charities is underway at the RCMP headquarters at White Hills in St. John's.

RCMP Cpl. The event generally attracts over 1,000 people each year and has raised $914,188.49 since 1983 for 43 charities in the province.

The aim this year — the final one for the event — is to raise $86,000 to push the total over the $1-million mark.

The beneficiaries this year are the Candlelighters and the Children’s Wish Foundation — both children’s charities.
