Alcohol was a factor in a number of offenses over the weekend.

RNC officers spotte a vehicle travelling on the wrong side of the road on Duckworth Street in St. John’s Friday night. The 47 year old female driver was charged with impaired driving and refusal of the breathalyzer. She was issued a seven day driving suspension and was released to appear in court at a later date.          

A 37-year-old male showed up for his weekend sentence at HMP drunk on Friday. He was charged with three breaches of court orders and kept for morning court.

The driver of a vehicle stopped on Mt. Scio Road was found to owe $5000 in fines. The 26 year old male driver was charged with operating a vehicle without a license, operating a vehicle without insurance, and operating a vehicle with expired license plates. He was held for court and the vehicle was impounded.
