Munn Insurance is warning residents to be aware of an individual, reportedly going door to door in the St. John’s-metro area who claims to be selling insurance products on behalf of the local insurance firm.
Company Vice-president Adam Nolan said in a news release, he wants to make it clear to the public that this individual has no connection with Munn Insurance or the Munn Insurance Group of Companies, whatsoever, and should be avoided.
“This individual has no association with Munn Insurance in any way, and selling insurance door to door is not how we conduct business.” said Nolan, “We are a bricks and mortar operation, with offices located across the province. Ensuring you have the best coverage to protect your personal property is an important decision, and it’s not something you could ever do on a doorstep.”
Nolan said it is unfortunate that this type of fraudulent activity is occurring and that all residents, especially the elderly who are prime targets for this sort of scam, should be wary of anyone who shows up at their door selling insurance policies.

“Munn Insurance would never sell its insurance products in this manner,” Nolan said, “we take pride in our customer service, the insurance products we offer and the confidentiality protocols we’ve developed during the 100-plus years we’ve been in the insurance business in this province.”
Munn Insurance says it has been in contact with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary regarding this incident.
