Two men arrested in connection with a holdup at a convenience store last fall have pleaded not guilty to charges against them.

Eric Squires and William Peter Edwards entered the pleas Monday when they appeared in Newfoundland Supreme Court in St. John’s.

The charges include robbery, being disguised with intent to commit a crime, possessing a weapon, uttering threats, assault and breaching court orders.

The charges were laid following a robbery at Marie’s Mini Mart on Oct. 20, 2013.

The men — who are in custody — will be tried by judge alone, Dec. 8-12.
