Three men facing serious charges following fight in Marystown

Three men are facing assault-related charges after the RCMP in Marystown responded to a disturbance on Ville Marie Drive in the Burin Peninsula town about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.


On arrival at the scene, police found four persons with various injuries as a result of a fight.

A 46-year-old man was taken to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre by ambulance with serious, but non-life threatening injuries and three others were treated and released from hospital.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of two males from Marystown — ages 27 and 30 — and an 18-year-old man from Mortier.

Charges include assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm.   All accused were released on undertakings and have a court date of set for July 30 in provincial court at Grand Bank.
