RNC deal with thefts and shoddy driving

The RNC responded to two attempted robberies in the St. John's area since Friday afternoon.

The RNC responded to two attempted robberies in the St. John's area since Friday afternoon.

 At 2:00 pm officers responded to a complaint at a supermarket on Blackmarsh Road. A 23 year old female was charged with theft and breach of a court order. She was held to appear in court.

 At 8:00 pm police charged a 27 year old male with break and entry at a residence in Mount. Pearl. He was also charged with a court order breach and was held for court.

 No license – no problem was the attitude of one driver pulled over Saturday afternoon. A traffic safety stop on Lemarcant Road saw a 40 year old male arrested for driving while suspended, no insurance, no registration, no drivers license, failure to transfer ownership, studded tires, and failure to stop at stop sign. The man owes $52546.50 in fines. He was held in custody to appear in court and his vehicle was seized.

    $52,000 in unpaid fines ? Is this yet another Newfie joke ? The authorities who are apparently useless when it comes to dealing with this problem, need to import people who have the necessary technical and systems expertise to get a handle on these irresponsible nuisances . Enough is enough.

    Now they should take the bloody plate off the vehicle and not return it until the skeet pays his fines.
