A short chase in St. John’s involving a man who allegedly would not stop his vehicle for police ended Friday afternoon with an arrest.
A 29-year-old man is charged with flight from police. The vehicle he was driving has also been impounded, as the accused owed $7,000 in fines was reportedly driving without insurance and a driver’s licence.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary tried to stop the vehicle on Old Pennywell Road Friday afternoon. A short pursuit happened after it failed to stop. The accused allegedly tried to run away after exciting his vehicle.
The man is scheduled to appear in court Saturday.
