Parks Canada said in a news release Tuesday the parking lot will close at midnight. It is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday. A further update will be provided if Parks Canada decides to extend the closure.

During those hours, staff hope to remove and relocate foxes. Parks Canada said that work will be carried out in a humane fashion.

Similar closures have taken place earlier this year to deal with the local fox population. The government agency has previously warned the general public not to feed wild animals at Signal Hill.
