No injuries as float plane crashes into pond

Two men aboard a float plane that crashed into Garnish Pond Thursday afternoon were not injured, Burin Peninsula RCMP say.


The two occupants of the plane, a 61-year-old man from Vernon, B.C. and a 64-year-old man from Garnish, were rescued by a cabin owner in the area who used a boat to bring the two to shore.

The incident is being investigated by the Transportation Safety Board.
