Charges laid for illegal netting of salmon

Two people from Grey River on the province’s south coast were charged Tuesday with poaching salmon.

The two are facing a number of offences related to the illegal netting and possession of Atlantic salmon.

A boat, outboard motor and salmon net were seized.

Also on Tuesday, while officers with the Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Division were conducting patrols in the area, three other salmon nets were discovered.

The investigation into who set these is ongoing.
