UPDATE: Missing woman Salome Andersen found safe: RCMP

The RCMP is advising the public Salome Andersen — reported missing Monday —  has been located safe.

A 26-year-old woman from Charlottetown and originally from Nain has gone missing and the Mary’s Harbour RCMP is asking for the public’s help to find her.

Salome Andersen was last seen around 12:30 a.m. on July 3 on the Main Road in Charlottetown,  walking alone toward Route 514 (Charlottetown access road), possibly hitchhiking. Information gathered by police suggests that Andersen may be heading to the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area. and there has been some concern expressed for her well-being.

The Inuit woman has a dark complexion and is about five-feet tall and weighs 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Mary's Harbour RCMP at 709-921-6229 or 1-800-709-RCMP (7267).
