Hebron platform leaves land

The tow out has begun of the Hebron offshore oil platform to a deep water construction site.

The start of the concrete base was completed on land, at Nalcor Energy's Bull Arm Fabrication Site.

The completed base would have been too heavy to move out into the waters of the adjacent cove, which is why the gravity based structure has been floated and is being moved, to where more concrete can be added- building height onto the base, through a process known as slip forming.

      YOu are right observer, it really is awesome. Now what we need to wait for are some angry liberals or ndp to post here with some complaint about this great project.
