Below are details of some of them:

• Around 11:55 p.m. Thursday night, police officers attempted to stop a vehicle, travelling east on Topsail Road at speeds more than double the posted limit.

The driver refused to stop and officers pursued the vehicle through the centre of St. John’s and Mount Pearl, terminating the chase after about 10 minutes in the interest of public safety.

About two hours later, patrol officers arrested a 19-year-old man in the Thorburn Road area. He has been charged with flight from police and dangerous driving and was released to appear in court at a later date.

• At 905 p.m., RNC officers responded to a report from the St Johns Airport Authority in relation to an unruly passenger on a flight.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the airport for causing a disturbance and resisting arrest. He was held in custody for a court appearance this morning.

• Also at 9:05 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a collision on Commonwealth Avenue in Mount Pearl, where a young child was apparently struck by a car.

The child was taken to the Janeway hospital, with what appears to be minor injuries. The matter is still under investigation.

• At 10:35 p.m., RNC officers responded to a fire on Allan Square in St. John’s where two attached homes received moderate damage. Fire investigators are now working to determine the cause of the blaze.

• At 8:36 a.m. Thursday, the RNC responded to complaint of break and entry at a boat docked on the north side of St John’s Harbor.
